content is king

The never ending PR (Page Rank) issue among bloggers are everywhere. I remember a few months ago, I asked in one of the forum sites I joined... how a exactly a PR is gained? When I last checked the site, I got over 50 different responses from different people whom I actually don't know but are generous enough to share their intelligent opinions. But among those responses, the phrase"content is king" was what strikes me the most. Yesterday as I was visiting websites, I came across with it again. This made me ponder for a little while.

I have been blogging for over a year now... but I wonder if the entries I have posted in my blogs are of quality at all. Granting that PR is basically acquired through quality content then I must say I maybe at least have "some" of it cause as in early as three months this page has already been ranked 3 by Google. But like any other other pages that figure has its "high and off season" too... haha. I guess you know what I mean by that... But now that Google is repossessing my PR, does it literally implies low quality content too? What therefore comprises a quality content, if I may ask?

All I know is I have proved freedom of speech through blogging and I write as I feel and think as long as it is nothing offensive to the public or to anyone for that matter. I also would like to quote this concept from one writer/blogger that says:

"Good content will show the writers own personality and flavor in it. It will be interesting and very informative, if it's not what's the point of putting it online in the first place, nobody will benefit from it and it won't help you get more repeat visitors."

True enough! Pretty simple opinion but is rich and is worth contemplating!

Hi Nancy! Regarding your PR reduced to 0, is it that you did paid reviews before? Say, from PPP? I knew some sites got penalised cos of that.

    Cheers!

i believe so too, Lynn. although blog hopping can be so boring to do too sometimes, lol!

HI Nance! Thanks so much for the constant visits.

This is a thought-provoking post. I have always believed the QUALITY is subjective. And quality does not always come along side by side with PR. Meaning, having a higher PR doesn't mean that your blog have more quality than that with blogs of lower PRs. PR is more about algorithms and more figures which I say what the heck! Hahaha!

What's more important to me is the traffic. And it could help big time when u do paid reviews. Just my two cents, Nance, hehe!

Hope all is well! Say hi to Jim for me...

    Hugs and Kisses,
    LAINY
