I'm not quite an animal person until my late father who used to believe that dogs are man's bestfriend brought us home a wonderful puppy one afternoon. We all got excited and I still can recall how everyone wants to eagerly take care of him until he went astray one day and never made his way home again. We all tried to look around the neighbors' but to no avail and it took us several disappointing days to finally let go and just accept the fact that he's already gone.
Insuring safety measures for our puppet is one important lesson we learned out from that experience. I believe this is not just a call for one but to all pet owners as well. In line to this call, the American Humane Association’s Be Kind to Animals Week® was celebrated (May 3-9) supported by Home Again, a national pet recovery center that has helped recover more than 500,000 lost pets in the United States. For every pet registered into their program, Home Again Web Site will donate $1 to www.bringpetshome.com - a fundraising web site specifically created to help shelter animals.
HomeAgain is a comprehensive national pet-recovery service that goes beyond microchipping. For an annual subscription fee, HomeAgain members have telephone access to pet-recovery specialists and 24/7 emergency medical assistance at 1-888-HomeAgain. The program also includes up to $3,000 (less a $50 deductible) in medical pet insurance for lost pets and up to $500 in reimbursable travel expenses for pets found more than 500 miles from home.

Microchipping is a permanent form of identification that cannot fall off or become impossible to read, giving pets the best chance of being reunited with their owners when lost.
I love pets.. and hopefully, more people will take responsibility whenever they try to buy a pet. Instead of just throwing them outside once they get tired of taking care of their pets.
